As we learned in Woodland, the Creature is looking to hire on new partners in crime. While hoping his help wanted posters will spark some interest, the dark prince decided to actively recruit a handful of select candidates, ones he’d been hoping to bring on since the start of this caper: Skeletor and Evil-Lyn. True, the Creature’s last hire from Eternia had proved less than stellar, (Merman’s desertion came as both a professional and personal blow to the prince), but he was crossing his webbed-fingers that skipping the henchmen and going directly to the Big Bads was the way to get things done.
The Creature sent invitations to the two of them with his his carrier mynocks. The message was simple: “Feeling Evil?,” followed by “Yes. No. Maybe. Choose One.” The dark prince was overjoyed to get an immediate “Yes” response from Skeletor, and a “Maybe” from Evil-Lyn a few days later. A meeting was arranged. The two Eternians would meet the Creature at the edge of the dense thicket Rainbowlocks had traversed so deftly in her miraculous escape. (As mentioned before, the dark prince tends to mope. Aside from posting his flyers and kicking some rocks around, he’s been pretty pitiful since the princess made her exit, bemoaning his “impenetrable” getaway wagon, [it having been made pointless when punctured by Rainbowlocks’s horn in her daring escape]). It was today’s meeting that had raised his spirits, and filled him with newfound determination; he just didn’t know what to expect.
