Lunch is Nepalese soup, Tantuk. Very good, but not as hot (chilly) as I thought. A mug of hot milk and my rabbit dung altitude muti round it off. I go for a walk to discover the old town where local people stay. The authentic old town is very beautiful with narrow alleys, wood and stone structures and goats ruling the walkways. The neglect though, is worrisome. Basic structures, fulfilling basic needs. The tree trunks that are hollowed into steps and used as a staircase from one floor to the next, is unique and special to me. The beauty of amazing woodcarving work I will never forget. People who has time, can design in an old worldly fashion, unobtainable today. My light lunch left me hungry and I buy two chapattis at the bakery. Price is determined by altitude! I sit in a sunny room and as a snack, half the peanut butter and honey on my chapati!
Despite my dubious South African mind, the warm midday sun dried all washing on the line, without any theft! The rest of the day I forget about loud tourists with earphones and Tracy Chapman! I’m chilled!
