Today began with a major storm and downpour. My mom said to me: “This rain can go away and the sun can come back out anytime now...” Isn’t that so representative of how we all feel when the storms are present in our lives? We want the sun, the light, the joy back.
But what if there are things to learn in the storms, and if we rush them, we’ll miss it all? I’m so grateful for my current book, Learning to Walk in the Dark by #barbarabrowntaylor, that is continuing to teach me that the darkness isn’t scary in and of itself. It’s our anxiety that rushes us through it that makes it unpleasant.
So friend, how do you feel about the dark? What have you learned in the dark that you could have never learned in the light?
