No of episodes:- 12
Genres:- Ecchi, Slice of Life, Sports
Beach volleyball isn't the most interesting sport I've seen but because the sports genre is great, I decided to give Harukana Receive a chance.
Harukana Receive's story was okay.
Unlike most shounen sports anime out there, Harukana Receive is much more light hearted and feels more human and natural.
The story was cliché but most sports stories are cliché.
The pacing was a bit too slow for me since I was just bored halfway through, even if the content wasn't that bad.
It did pick up near the end and the Thomas siblings vs Kanata & Haruka match near the end was good. I just felt like with 12 episodes, they could have done more just to make the story more enjoyable.
It was alright but more refinement was needed just to spice the show up.
The Thomas siblings (and sexy mother) were easily the most interesting characters in this show.
They had a surprisingly big role in this show and I loved how they were showcased.
Haruka and Kanata were okay but both were very bland as characters and didn't impress me much, but atleast they did develop in some ways.
That 5th girl in the volleyball club was useless. Didn't even need to remember her name.
Art & Animation (7/10)
The girls look okay. It's basic CGDCT designs so not much was there to discuss.
The details put into the animation when the ball moves through the wind was a nice touch and a good move.
Okay? The OST was okay in doing its job, but nothing really interested me to relisten too.
I did kinda enjoy it at the end, so I'll give them props. Even if the start was slow to get through.
Harukana Receive was decent. It just feels so lackluster at places, but I definitely don't regret seeing this show.
