Its a humbling experience when you get to go back to your stomping grounds; the places where you used to get high at, steal and sleep on the floor on a cardboard box & realize you're no longer there.
It's more than just feeding the homeless, there's people under this bridge who struggle from mental illnesses, addiction problems, poverty, post traumatic stress, relational brokenness, grief, despair, foreclosure, job loss and underemployment.. people who live on the streets are not less than, they reach a bottom where they feel they can no longer get out of.. The way their face lights up when they see that someone cares, is the feeling I go after. ❤️
I love my city, I don't care what anyone says, the roughest parts of my city are the parts I love the most.
