Finished book 40 for 2018 today!
It took some getting used to the main character Stevie during part 1. Once I got used to him and his quirks, this book really blew me away!
This was the first book that I have read by Ania Ahlborn and I will definitely be seeking out more of her work.
At first, I wanted some more explanations at the end, but when I thought more about it and compared this story to a horror movie rather than a book, I realized that it ended perfectly.
A great October spooky read, especially if you live in a rural area. The details and descriptions were probably the best skin crawling goodness that I have ever read. The parallels between all 3 mothers in the story were intriguing and quite striking.
If you're able to look past a few minor flaws, like I see a lot of people didn't like Stevie as a character or found him annoying, then you're in for one hell of a ride in part 3 and the epilogue.
The one problem that I personally had with it was, you would read a scene with Stevie and then have to sit through 3 more pages of him repeating (stuttering and rhyming) everything that had just happened to tell the other characters.
Otherwise, this was perfect, and even so it was still so delightfully creepy. 😍 🦇 🎃
