Glen Choga Lodge - THIS was a stunner last week, and I’m still dreaming about it!
Tucked into the mountains off Junaluska Rd near Nantahala Lake is this stunning 1936 Adirondack style log lodge. The lodge was built using the wormy chestnut trees that were on the property at that time. It was a popular stop over before WWII when in route between Franklin and Murphy NC.
The inside is a step back in time as well and jaw dropping nostalgia and craftsmanship around every corner. Tim, Elizabeth & Ellie are so friendly, they graciously took the time to show me around as I tried not to cry from my senses on overload with all the smells, sights, & sounds, bringing up childhood memories of my family’s old lake cabin on Lake Allatoona (relatives will be laughing because it was NOWHERE near this size or grandeur 😂).
If you, family, friends, church groups, etc love rustic, history, and the beauty of mountain life, I urge you to contact them and check out Glen Choga Lodge. (Contact info online and it’s also currently for sale too so photos of the interior and layout can be viewed with that as well)
