Some notes from my final day in Amsterdam: -Waking up at 5:30 and working for four hours makes for a really strange day. -Cheese is amazing. Also, I have been pronouncing Gouda incorrectly my whole life and I also learned that Gouda does not distinguish the taste or type of cheese, but suggests its roundness as it is aged. So yeah. -20€ for all you can eat cheese, three glasses of wine and a shot is the best deal in Amsterdam. So. Def do the cheese tasting. -I am thankful for always meeting new friends on my travels. I am thankful that those friends have no preconceived judgements of your life and every twist and turn brings you closer together. I am also thankful that I got to spend my new friend’s 25th birthday with her. Happy Birthday, Liz! -Amsterdam is incredible. It’s a city where all people — locals, tourists, black, white, brown, gay, straight, young, old — can live their damn lives. There are so many things to learn and taste and drink and smoke and watch and absorb and photograph and laugh at and admire. And I’m so happy I got to spend a few days here getting to know its beauty.
And now, I clean up my little room and get a sleep before I head to Belgium. Here’s to more coffee, more chocolate, more waffles, and more memories. #remotework #travel #amsterdam
