I took this selfie tonight for two reasons, one, because I was really feeling my outfit, and two, because I've been seeing a lot of handicapped shaming lately. I have an invisible illness, if it weren't for this little tube coming out of me, you'd probably never know. The fact is, is that most handicapped people are made to feel ashamed for something that isn't our fault. Sometimes we need to take pain medication to be able to function like a normal human, sometimes we need to take a trip or two to the ER. I can guarantee you that most of us are kind, caring, and compassionate people who know what it's like to fight the ugly side of life. So let's fight the stigma, tonight, I want you to spam me with your stories, pictures of you rocking stomas, tubes, traches, and chairs! Because, my friends, our time has come, let's put an end to this stigma together! Tag me in your posts, let's use the hashtag #whathandicapped to shed some light and awareness!
