DID YOU KNOW: The Murray River is 2,530km long and flows through 3 different states within Australia. 💦💧
Irrigation is the main use of water from these states & it must be tightly managed & regulated. ⚖️
It also forms the border between New South Wales and Victoria -as you can hear in the video, with us hopping between states 😆🇦🇺
It’s over 60 million years old ‼️from the time Australia split from the supercontinent Gondwanaland and began its drift north, and it became huge cultural significance to local Indigenous tribes. For over 40,000 years they lived & relied solely on this water source for survival. ☀️ 🎥
As you can see, this river is a huge part of our history & our own survival as a society today. Efforts to educate people on this importance should not be taken lightly - so many Aussies would have no idea about their own backyard & where their water comes from or is going!
I’m so glad @scroft94 and I made the effort to journey up to the start of it all 🤗 “From humble beginnings, come great things! “
