Anselm Reyle 'White Earth'
October 12 – November 22, 2008 . Brussels
Initially scheduled for demolition, the building that was to become the gallery space was still in renovation when the gallery organized its first exhibition in Brussels. For White Earth, Anselm Reyle had an unconventional setting at his disposal and heightened it to suit his purpose. He found the location—an old industrial building with parking garage in Brussels—in a dilapidated state, and had for the most part left it unaltered. The sole renovation was the construction of a sheetrock wall which has been crudely plastered and left unpainted, and which serves as a surface for presenting the artworks. The exhibition White Earth was a highly constructed pictorial space—an installative arrangement of works, pictorial formulae, and found objects which has been concentrated conceptually and atmospherically into a complex “total chromaticity.”

Taryn Simon 'An American Index of the Hidden and Unfamiliar'
February 16 – March 15, 2008
For her first exhibition with the gallery, artist Taryn Simon assumed the dual role of shrewd informant and collector of curiosities, compiling an inventory of what lies hidden and out-of-view within the borders of the United States. She examines a culture through documentation of subjects from domains including: science, government, medicine, entertainment, nature, security, and religion. Confronting the divide between those with and without the privilege of access, Simon’s collection reflects and reveals that which is integral to America’s foundation, mythology and daily functioning.

Gregor Hildebrandt 'Zum Wohl der Tränen'
September 8 – October 11, 2007
Gregor Hildebrandt presented a set of previously unshown works on the ground floor of the Almine Rech Gallery—notably an important wall work composed of audio tape cases and End of Love, a polyptych in four elements on canvas whose motif made with audio tapes suggests the ripples of a curtain, inspired by Dance me to the end of love by Leonard Cohen. New paintings and photographic collages were also exhibited.

'Matter, Grey’ Organized by Joseph Kosuth
February 25 – April 22, 2006
The exhibition Matter, Grey, consisted of works chosen by Joseph Kosuth, that, as he has said, “represent a kind of ‘neuron’ within artistic practice.” He was proposing the brain cell as a chamber of discourse. Featuring works by Hanne Darboven, Seamus Farrell, Joseph Kosuth, René Magritte, Tino Sehgal, Ann-Sofi Sidén and Haim Steinbach.

Hedi Slimane 'As Tears Go By'
January 7 – February 18, 2006
Photography is one of the media used by Hedi Slimane. At times it takes the form of installations. In this exhibition, the fragmentation of certain photographs appeared, creating a rhythm and freeing the
image of its immediacy, incorporating spaces of time and of unknown. There were also new works called Steles, like mirrors without silvering in which snippets of the words of songs were engraved, along with poetry, and shared memories. The exhibition was made up of these different works and new threedimensional works.

- "Beyond the Mountain (painted natural sand SF #1F, grey white pink and orange, pink CS)," 2017, sand, acrylic, and oil on linen, 92 x 74 inches, placed by Levin Art Group, all Artworks © the Artist 🔸 Upon returning from Morocco, Guidi brought with her a collection of rugs and began to photograph their intricate surfaces as well as the muted stitching on their reverse. This investigation led to what the Artist describes as "…a natural evolution of an emptying out of ideas and noise from my paintings…" Guidi's process commences with underpainting, and then application of thick layers of colored sand. Using a wood dowel, she presses the point of the instrument into the soft, tinted sand. The Artist's characteristic use of sand as a medium creates mandala-like meditations linking her mode of abstraction to sensory experiences of the natural world, capturing an atmospheric ambiance… #levinartgroup#levinartgroup1 #toddlevin #artadvisor #artadvisory#alminerech #alminerechgallery #davidkordansky#davidkordanskygallery #jenniferguidi@alminerechgallery @bigpoulou@davidkordanskygallery @homermikehomer@jenguidi"

2005 : Almine Rech Gallery also hosted two exhibitions by James Turrell and Gavin Turk.

James Turrell 'Tall Glass'
October 5 – December 17, 2005
“James Turrell and I met fifteen years ago. I have learned to know him intermittently over all these years. Being aware of an artist’s life doesn’t always help to understand his work. In certain aspects it can even make you view the work with too many preconceptions. Given the importance of James Turrell’s artwork, and that his life and opinions are so peculiar, uncommon and strong, I believe that his biography is of great interest.” – Almine Rech in Rencontres 9, Almine Rech Editions/Editions Images Modernes, 2005.

Gavin Turk 'Ha ha ha!'
November 5 – December 23, 2005
Gavin Turk is a British born, international artist. He has pioneered many forms of contemporary British sculpture now taken for granted, including the painted bronze, the waxwork, the recycled art-historical icon and the use of rubbish in art. Turk’s installations and sculptures deal with issues of authorship, authenticity and identity.

2005 : Almine Rech Gallery was pleased to present shows by Philip-Lorca diCorcia and Mark Handforth
_
Philip-Lorca diCorcia 'Hollywood'
May 28 – July 23, 2005
Works from his new series and from the earlier Hollywood series were exhibited. The gallery had arranged these works by bringing them together in the same show, because they are two parts of one and the same subject: the human condition versus the Hollywood mirage.

Mark Handforth
September 10 – October 29, 2005
Amidst the sculptures, a neon mural acted as the centrepiece in what was Mark Handforth’s first exhibition at the gallery. The artist notes that when exhibited, his work can be considered as a landscape.
