Scripture Sunday 🌿 This bible verse from Matthew brings me so much peace. Weekends are a welcome and much needed break from a busy week, but they are also a balancing act between juggling errands, catching up on chores, and trying to spend quality time together as a family. It can be easy to feel disheartened on Sunday evenings when I still see cluttered tables and piles of laundry that didn't get tended to. Surprisingly, God isn't impressed with my desire for busyness or by my cleaning accomplishments. He just wants me to rest in Him. This week when the pull of the world is telling me to work myself frayed, I'll instead pray to shift my heart to desire peace. I will pray to be reminded that the cross wasn't won so that I could continue running in circles of worldly discontentment, but instead so that I could be free to love and serve with a spirit that is truly refueled by Jesus. I'll pray to remember that maybe these small daily windows of intentional rest are opportunities for the end goal, where we get to eternally worship and rest in Him.
