What's proper Jiu-jitsu posture?

When you are sitting in someone's closed guard you have one objective: ✅Clear their legs while not getting swept or submitted.
The ideal starting position is one where you can be safe from the guard player's attacks and are in good position to open the guard. Also when strikes are involved you want to place yourself in a position to strike effectively. .
What is proper jiu jitsu posture? Jiu jitsu posture is different from regular standing posture because there are different objectives. In jiu jitsu when you are sitting in someone's closed guard you are mainly resisting a forward pull from the guard player. ❇️To remain balanced you have to keep your center of mass between your base of support. .
If the guard player manages to pull your center of mass outside your base of support you will be unbalanced.

Initial posture: Tuck your tailbone underneath you (posterior pelvic tilt). When your pelvis tilts posteriorly it causes your spine to have slight flexion. The spinal and pelvic alignment puts you in a mechanical advantage to resist the guard player's anterior pulling force. Why? If you have neutral spinal alignment and they pull then you will be pulled into lumbar extension ie your center of mass will be much closer to the edge of your base of support. Therefore the force they will need to unbalance you will be considerably less. ✳️The most stable alignment is a neutral spinal with abdominal bracing, however if there is slight flexion it will not significantly decrease your stability.

When the opponent's pull increases or if they try a hip heist sweep to unbalance you posteriorly you can “engage your hips” meaning activating your glutes and slightly lifting your hips up to meet their increased force.

⁉️Hiding behind your shadow self instead of actively working on it!?
🔜It’s so important to do some shadow work from time to time. Checking in with yourself. Dealing with the dark parts within you. Learning where they came from and accepting them for what they are. This can be very uncomfortable. But many people are good at managing that first step.
The next step would be to work on your shadow aspects. Finding ways to get rid of unhealthy habits etc. Finding ways to be happy and positive. BUT I noticed that people (including myself) tend to stop there and then make an excuse for why they act the way they do, instead of working on their issues. Like, they now know the reasons why. So they gladly adapt it as a character trait and are done with it.

Pelvic positioning is a much talked about topic in yogic practice today.
Anterior or posterior??? When??? How much??? What I encourage all yogi’s to do is to get to know their own body because the same instruction, for example, “anterior tilt in backbends”, doesn’t apply to all.
If you have a highly flexible lumbar spine, generous extension, perhaps you have segmental extension where one or two vertebrae contribute to the movement more than the other lumbar vertebrae, you may create excessive compression of your joints and discs by following this instruction.
The answer to the question is simple and two-fold:

MAINTAIN THE LUMBAR SPINE AS CLOSE TO NEUTRAL AS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT YOUR YOGA PRACTICE. •
CULTIVATE A STRONG TRANSVERSUS ABDOMINIS ACTION OF DRAWING THE ABDOMEN INWARDS AND UPWARDS.
