I sometimes forget the blessings I have being able to live freely in my country. Sure, it's not perfect. Nothing is. But far out, it could be a lot worse.
There are places where women still have no rights. Or where people of different religions are killed. Or members of the LGBT are physically tortured.
In this world, there are some seriously scary places to live in that, when I reflect upon them, I can't help but pray for massive freedom and revival in those countries. For each and every person who is oppressed. For each individual who would be absolutely stoked to be in the position that I am... learning, working, enjoying community, living in freedom.
I'm not saying the West doesn't have problems. It absolutely does. They are there and they are real. But for me, I find it very, very helpful and healthy to remember the context of the entire world. To remember my fellow human beings (that I'm sure if I met it would be their friend) who are being persecuted for things that I take for granted.
Pick your battles, Emma. Fight for those who need it and remember their struggle. ❤️
