Once you experience stress, a stress hormone called #cortisol sky rockets🚀And this can aggravate inflammatory skin conditions such as #acne. When your body is tense, it has a hard time to repair or rejuvenate itself.
De-stress ritual : What makes you feel good? For me it's spending quality time with my dog, family, partner, hunting down the cutest matcha🍵 desserts in town, brewing my coffee☕️ every morning, enjoying the calm before the morning wakes up, laying underneath the palm trees🌴, turning off my laptop and phone to go through my books📚before bed, and of course doing my #skincareroutine every night. Zoning out from the noise, patting in my skincare products, touching my skin and seeing myself in the mirror and giving a lil word of #affirmation to myself💆🏻💓 .
How to stress less? : I don't think anyone has mastered this subject (or have you?) but for me things get a tiny bit easier when I ask myself "Is the situation under my control? Can I do something about it to change or remove?" If I can't change the circumstances, I'm practicing how to let things go and enjoy the flow instead. I define that event is not worth scavenging my skin and health and that makes it easier to stress less. But if the stress is coming from something I CAN change, I try to use that stress as a motivating factor to work harder🙌🏼
