Shangarh, Sainj Valley(Kullu), hidden land of Gods!
Locals say, 5000 years ago during Mahabharat Kaal Pandavas came here during their abandon period and made Shangharh meadow. They were trying to make steps here which would have taken them to heaven but they could not succeed and left the place.
All we #naturelovers & #adventurers care about, when coming to Himalayas, is a place which is calm, super cool (chilled in fact) and remote with possibilities of exploration & #wilderness.
Nestled under the shadows of the Shensar, Shangharh and Shaktimaror peaks in Sainj #valley in Himachal Pradesh, Shangharh,at 6,300 feet above sea level, tells a tale of an enormously beautiful and vast meadow near the Great Himalayan National Park, where time stands still even now, safe from the onslaught of #tourists.
#Shangarh falls in snow range and receive above medium snow fall every year in months of December to March.
There is a small village near the meadow where most common occupation is either #agriculture or taking care of ancient temples and their Devta whom they also consider as the owner of Shangarh Meadow.
Both the village and the meadow derive their names from the adjoining Shangarh peak.
Shangharh also acts as a base camp for treks in GHNP (Great Himalayan National Park) which is a world heritage site now.
There are several 3-10 days treks that can be done starting from here.
