Last night was a special reunion. To hear about their journeys over the last couple of years since I left Chiang Mai made my heart feel so much - so much warmth, hope and strength πŸ₯°

There was reminiscing but most of all I felt there was an immense gratitude for the here and now, as well as for whatever the future holds πŸ’•

Though I loved living in that city so so much, the end of my time there was a flurry of uncertainty and disappointment. I took a huge hits to my confidence and feelings of worth, which I feel like I have only just recently regained.
I wonder if part of the reason as to why I've found myself in Sydney is to reconnect with my time in Chiang Mai. To remind myself of the good that I experienced there and that I was a part of something that truly changed lives πŸ™

It can be difficult to fall or stay asleep if you’re stressed out. In fact, stress can lead to insomnia by causing hyper-arousal in your body and mind. 1.Exercise in the morning or afternoon.
Since exercise increases body temperature temporarily, it’s best for many people to work out at least three hours before bedtime so that their body temperature has enough time to drop and set the stage for sleep.
2. Take time to downshift before bedtime.
For at least 30 minutes (preferably an hour) before bedtime, avoid doing anything stimulating or stressful. Instead, dim the lights and lower the volume; read an interesting book, take a warm bath, do some gentle stretching, or listen to music that helps calm you.

3. Tame your tension.
Spend five to 10 minutes doing a calming routineβ€”such as deep breathing, guided imagery , or progressive muscle relaxationβ€”before you turn in. These decompression techniques can help you feel less stressed and reduce your blood pressure and heart rate.
4. Turn off your thoughts.
To prevent daytime worries from sabotaging your sleep, make a concerted effort to switch your mind into β€œoff” mode before you turn in for the night.You can do this by jotting down your concerns in the afternoon and putting them aside to address the next morning. Or, you can practice mindfulness meditation. Having a clear, calm mind puts you a sleep-friendly state. -----
