Hello! 👋 I realized recently that I never properly introduced myself on here. There are so many #adultballerinas on Instagram who inspire me every single day, and I'd love to get to know you guys better! •
🌸 First off, my name is Hannah! I started ballet at 15 (I am now 29) and have taken classes on and off since then, as time and other circumstances have allowed. Throughout the ups and downs of my training (and oftentimes lack of training) the one thing that has never changed is my absolute love of ballet--it's all I want to do, all the time!
• 🌸 I am married and have two young daughters. My oldest (three years) recently took her first ballet class (well, technically, it was creative movement and not ballet quite yet). She loved it and I was thrilled! I will forever count watching her very first dance class from the viewing window as one of the most magical moments of my life--I thought I would burst with pride. •
🌸 Although with two young kids I do not have as much time for ballet as I once did, having children pushes me to work harder and smarter--I want to set a strong example for them of accomplishing goals and chasing after dreams with abandon no matter what others may think.
🌸 If you are familiar with Myers-Briggs, I'm an INFP, which basically just means I am an idealistic daydreamer who expresses herself best in writing. It's also very important to my well-being to have outlets for creative expression--hence the love of ballet!
🌸 Finally, I have a dream of creating free educational resources about ballet technique, to help make ballet more accessible to late starters. I'm currently drafting a little ballet dictionary. I work on it in the evenings after my kids go to bed. I'm hoping to share some progress with you guys soon! Well, I think that's enough for now! Have a good evening everyone! #AdultBallet #PracticeBalletEveryday
