I’m the PR and Project Manager for Monteria Robinson, the mother of Jamarion Robinson that was attending Tuskegee University and majoring in Biology (The Study of Life). Jamarion was an honorable and respectful young man that was loved dearly by his family and friends. He did not have a criminal history.
Jam, the nickname his family had given him lost his life August 5th 2016 at 26 yrs old to a senseless act of U.S. Marshals and a Task Force Unit. They forced their way into his girlfriend’s apartment, threw flash grenades at him where one landed on his body, and over 90 shots were fired at and those 90; 76 penetrated his body.
After shooting him dead, someone approached his lifeless body at the top of the stairs and shot down into him, applied handcuffs to his wrist and dragged him down the stairs.
His story never made world news due to false narrative created by the police and the media, but the inhuman way he was murdered made history.
As a proud mother of a son of color with a promising future, I am concerned because though I believe there are those in this life that love those of color and respect us as a people there are also those among us structuring a new way of lynching our children.
Beyond our color we are still entitled to have the right to be treated equally and have a fair day in court. We should be able to dine without the fear of being arrested, ask for direction without being murdered and pulled over by the police without being brutally beaten.
There are those that have gone inside of our city schools and churches, murdering our children and family members in cold blood. And in most cases these individuals see their day in court.
Example; in the case of Dylan Roof 21, a Caucasian male that was charged with 9 counts of murder, apprehended by the Shelby Police department and while in custody complained that he was hungry was then taken to grab a bite to eat at a local Burger King according to Shelby Police Chief, Jeff Ledford.
