The sun is shining down on The Wild Center today – literally and figuratively. We are excited to announce that we are the proud recipients of a @us_imls Museums for America grant in the amount of $245,161. The grant will fund our Two Row project, which will be implemented at The Wild Center over the next three years in concert with our partners at the #SixNationsIndianMuseum in Onchiota and the @akwesasneculturalcenter in the Mohawk community of Akwesasne. The primary goal of the project will be to incorporate traditional ecological knowledge, and new perspectives and cultural elements into our exhibits + experiences here at The Wild Center, including a reinterpretation of our Marsh Oxbow exhibit from the perspective of the Akwesasne Mohawk people. Other partners include the Indigenous Education Institute and the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment at @sunyesfimages. Read the full press release by visiting our profile link.
