There's nothing quite like adavu class in Chennai. Watching this video reminds me how lucky I am to be able to travel to India to learn, and how much further I need to go. It's easy for me to watch myself and nitpick at all the imperfections, but that's just more reason to keep diving deeper and learning more.
The most painful moment in your life will be the point when you realise you chased after the wrong things in life. You actually lose all the right things that were along the way. At times, I really wonder what's more important. And trust me, I am still finding for the answers. The most painful moments have taught me that I still have dance to rely on. Extremely grateful that I took up this challenge! #kumarimaychallenge#bharatanatyam#adavu#day7#DancersOfSingapore#InstaDancers
Day 7 of #kumarimaychallenge "Adavu": Today's practice was difficult. I was stuck on one adavu for almost an hour. Not a set of adavus, just the single one you see in the video. Even though I knew the steps, my timing was terrible and I could barely hold the poses in slow speed. Still, I tried not to let the frustration get to me by taking away one important lesson: slowing down is just as valuable as speeding up.
Day 3 of #kumarimaychallenge "Morning practice": Today was our last day in Bali. We were set to leave at 7am, so I squeezed in a quick adavu practice in the morning. It's fun to dance when you're on vacation, but now the real challenge will be to incorporate regular practice in my everyday life. Hope I can keep it up.
