This is probably the most important message ever.
It really broke my heart and brought me to tears when I found out this man was dead. I wanted to meet him someday because he reminded me of my grandfather. I wish he made it out of the 1970s and that he was alive now so he can see the progress we've made. He died during the revolutionary era, though he died pretty much near the end of it, he still didn't really make it out of it to see its lasting results. It makes me sad when I think about how many panthers and people who were a part of the "self defense" revolutionary era didn't make it out of the 20th century. But all I (and we) can do is continue to make each day better and progress forward so that if they were here, they'd be proud. The "Black Power Era" as much as we sort of overlook it, was truly the vanguard of the revolution, and without it, we wouldn't be where we are today.
