Primarily Me. 👨🏼🎨🎨
As an artist, it can sometimes feel difficult to find self worth or importance in a world where people classify a job as a 9-5 day in the office or a doctor or a construction worker. A world where those office workers or doctors or construction workers can sometimes view people like me as a kid who never stopped coloring with crayons, who was too lazy to let go of their coloring books and get a "real" job. Because our jobs don't make the most income or save millions of lives with the push of a needle or intake of a pill, we are useless. Right?
Wrong. Art does save lives, it heals, it brightens moods, it creates smiles. The art that those workers think is made by a kid with a crayon is the same art that will one day make a song that you could never stop listening to, or direct that movie with the gorgeous cinematography you won't forget for weeks after watching it, or design clothes you find comfort in and the building you go to every evening that is called home. Art is just as necessary to our daily lives as those "real" jobs.
I find purpose in art. I will not fall to wretched expectations and let go of my passion because it's not a "real" job. I am an artist, and i am primarily me because of it.
