Let me tell you, dancers have it hard. Rarely in the spotlight, they’re overworked, underpaid (“the exposure” is real) and so kind hearted they’re the best folks to be around but struggle when it comes to “business side”.
Real dancers create something that isn’t done for money or fame.
I remember dancing 30hrs a week, putting myself through school, working, and every last penny went to more dancing. Sometimes over food, bills, you name it.
Travelling, competing, community, classes, dance became my family.
It’s where I met my husband, my best friends, and holds my favourite memories. I remember leaving the stage over and over thinking, “When are we up there again?”
Dance has firmly carved a place in my heart and when we made the transition to “normal life” almost two years ago, it was so bittersweet.
Having time for family, my marriage, travel for pleasure, exploring business, making 6 figures, rest-oh man-the rest! Those sweet parts I felt I couldn’t have when I was dancing—it broke a piece of my heart.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing, but knowing what I do now—it really didn’t have to be that way. I could’ve had both.
Something I wish I knew then was how to brand and market myself and my teams. Those opportunities and finances could come my way. It would have eased the “struggle”. No longer would it have been this hustle mentality out of scarcity. Searching, digging, tirelessly. It could have been strategy, security, then—ease. It could’ve been knowing the exact steps to take, how to take them, and enjoying what came my way.
When I embarked on this business journey, I had no idea it would lead me back to dance. (I’m SO HAPPY IT DID!)
Every time I learned a new principle, connected with entrepreneurs, heard behind the scenes, this always popped into my head, “I wish my dance fam knew this.”
I want my dance fam to succeed! To learn the skills to make business side of dance easy. To have strategy-solid, personalized-and bring you those big dreams you’re after.
That new app, those international classes, booking the next gig, building that community—let me whisper alllll the ways you can get there.
