It's hard for a lot of us to admit the following flaws, but it’s the human nature: Jealousy and envy. I guess those are two of the most common, negative and useless, emotions many of us have, overwhelming and poisoning us. Jealousy, the feeling that someone is trying to take something you have and that is yours and envy, a feeling you have because someone has something you don't. They are all about comparisons between a certain person and yourself, as if life was a game. I agree that competition can be helpful, as long as we don't take it too seriously. You experience envy over other people’s appearance, relationships or bank accounts, and that offers no positive contribution to your life. When somebody receives something that you desire, try to be happy for them. If you want it, they did too. Being jealous of someone is like being found guilty of a crime they didn't commit, yes, you could spend all your time with your partner wondering what they see in you, convinced that it's all a lie and ajoke and they are sneaking around behind your back, or you could, just enjoy being around them, and the same applies to professional jealousy : celebrate other people's wins. You could think in your head « that's a great text » but not bother to tell the author, but it costs you nothing to honestly compliment someone else for once. Financial envy, it’s driving many people to debt and bankruptcy! Comparing yourself to others is a trap, so you're better off not doing it at all. Remember, not everyone who is living the good life is actually in a better place than you. People can seem to be doing well on instagram or snapchat, but appearances are often deceiving. Don’t you ever take your blessings for granted. Count them again. You are gifted. You are cared for. You are special, nobody has it all in the end.
