Hello friends! The "Wing her to school" has officially closed for donations.

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all those who believed and enabled us to reach out to more than our targeted amount of girls. We are now in the talks with more secondary schools to be able to channel the funds to more girls.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the schools, arrival and distribution of pads.

Here is a picture of some girls from our partner, Lorwa Secondary School.

Nope this is not a dare or a bet. This is about something way more important.

In Kenya, 1/10 girls have no choice but to skip school as a result of their periods. In fact, many of them miss out on up to 25% of their education every month and even end up dropping out because they have no access to that one basic necessity. However, you can make a difference. There is currently a kickstart project with the aim of distributing a year's supply of pads to 300 kenyan girls. Every cent counts and if you're interested in playing a part, do check out the link in my bio.

Your efforts will go a long way in helping these girls live a better life. Thanks guys😊 #winghertoschool #kenyaaidtheflow

The benefits that education brings to a child is no sceret. It is a necessity that every child deserves to have.
However, there are still many girls that are forced to miss school regularly because of their menstratution cycle.

Many girls in Kenya skip school every month becasue they are not able to afford sanitary products. It is such a sad reality for them.
These girls should not have to put their education on hold becasue of this. Going to school can already be a challenge for them. So the limitation of sanitary products adds onto the mountain that prevents girls from staying in school.
I hope that you will be able to join me in supporting ANGELA CAROL MERCIAR: @itakebrunomars as she strives to make a difference to the lives of girls in Kenya. πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ She is currently in Kenya for her internship and has started a crowd funding campaign ( Wing Her To School πŸ’˜) in hopes of reaching out to 300 school girls in Kenya.
All funds rasied will help to provide a years' supply of sanitary pads for these schools girls in Kenya so that they get what they deserve. An Education.
Hope that you guys would be able to contribute as much as you can to this amazing cause as well as sharing this post on your feed to spread the word to others. (yes!! post a pic of you with pads 😊) This may not be a reality for us here in Singapore but to these girls in Kenya, it is a problem that limits them from achieving their dreams. Join Angela as she tries to fight for these girls. It takes a world to change the world.
Immensely proud of you ANGEL LA πŸ˜‡πŸ‘ΌπŸΏfor having the courage to make a difference. You really are a ray of sunshine that God sent. LOVE YOU BOOOO πŸ’˜

I've got a trusted friend in Kenya doing really great work now. It is something that she refuse to allow to carry on.
That is the education that every child gets and basic female hygiene products. These children do not have proper female hygiene products and they actually use chicken feathers. Can you imagine that!? What this project does is to raise funds to buy pads for them being sufficient for 1 year while looking at a sustainable plan in the future. "I am only one; but still i am one. I cannot do everything but still i can do something. I will not refuse to do something I can do." -Edward Everett Hale.

You can support this project through the crowdfunding link in my bio! That is the one thing that we can do as individuals 😊

Cheering for you @itakebrunomars

Girls in Kenya use chicken feathers and sometimes cow dung because they have no access to sanitary pads. They even stop going to school earlier because of this. We should be ever grateful for the comfort that we live in that our only concern is cramping.

My friend Angela who is interning in Kenya decided to come up with a solution to this problem. She has always been doing great things. And now she is going the extra mile and challenging the status quo.

Please show her your great support by sharing,liking,following and if you can, donating to this worthy cause.

With your help, 300 school girls in Kenya could stay in school a little longer than they would have. Find out more in my bio and the link here: https://chuffed.org/project/wing-her-to-school

It's a natural thing that every woman either your grandma,mum,siz,wife or daughter will or she will undergo the menstrual period during her life time.The sad 😒thing about this is that not every girl out there has got the ability to afford the sanitary pads and these may lead to absentiasm in classrooms especially for the schoolgirls,so lets help each other out by donating any amount to assist atleast 300 girls in our schools by giving them a full supply of the sanitary towels ,,,,#kenyaaidtheflow
#winghertoschool

run out of pads? we immediately go to the nearest convenience store to get a few packets - wing, day, night or heavy flow ones, they are all there in abundance for us to choose. to us, this is something that we perhaps took for granted but to the kenyan girls, having a pad (not even a packet of pads) during their period is a luxury that they cannot afford
β€’
and because they cannot afford this basic necessity, the girls will have to miss school whenever the red light comes every month. can you imagine having to stay home for A WEEK every SINGLE month just because of something you cannot change or help? 😫
β€’
if you would like to help these girls in kenya stay in school DURING their periods (like us!!), please go to https://chuffed.org/project/wing-her-to-school or contact angela (@itakebrunomars) (@winghertoschool) to find out how you can make a difference in their lives! β˜ƒοΈ
β€’
on a side note, although the red light can be really frustrating at times, i’m immensely grateful to be able to go through it without having to worry about the lack of sanitary pads and it is disheartening to see a basic necessity become an unaffordable luxury for others πŸ˜” please help donate and spread the word love yall ❀️

I’ve heard many times and am guilty of saying β€œdid you hear about *inserts social problem*? Why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?”
//
Meet my sista from another mother, an angel sent from heaven @itakebrunomars aka Angela πŸ˜‡ (I love ya girl ❀️). She is one of the special souls out there that is making a difference in our painful world. At this moment, she’s in Kenya on an internship (kenya imagine that?! hehe the pun never get’s old to me). Over there, she found out that there are girls that can’t go to school because of their menstrual cycle. (CLICK ON THE LINK IN MY BIO TO FIND OUT WHY)
//
Angela started a crowd-funding campaign to raise funds to purchase a year’s supply of sanitary pads for young ladies in Kenya. With your help, 300 school girls in Kenya can stay in school a little longer than they would have. Do contribute whatever you can! It'll mean the world 🌎 to Angela and the girls in Kenya πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ
//
It’s time to stop asking the question β€œwhy isn’t anyone doing anything about it.” It’s time to be that person who does. βœŒπŸ»πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ŒπŸ» (yes, I'm holding tampons)

#KenyaAidTheFlow #WingHerToSchool

We're fortunate enough to attend school but girls in Kenya are stripped of this fundamental human right to be educated due to being unable to afford the luxury that are sanitary pads.
It's disheartening to know that girls are afraid of attending their classes just because of their period - a natural occurrence that they can't help.
Project #WingHerToSchool is raising funds to provide sanitary products. Help Kenyan girls stay in school by donating or spreading the word πŸ’– link in bio!! #KenyaAidTheFlow

As I'm have my time of the month today, i can't imagine how a Kenyan girl can do without her pad? As a Singaporean, i have the privilege to receive quality education and not having to worry about my basic needs and neccessities. Yet girls in Kenya have to skip school just because they are having red tsunami down there.
With your help, 300 school girls in Kenya could stay in school a little longer than they would have. Let's give them a sofy comfort night by donating just a small portiin of your allowance or savings ya!? If you have a heart unlike donald trump lol do donate at the link below! https://chuffed.org/project/wing-her-to-school
#KenyaAidTheFlow #WingHerToSchool

Girls in Kenya have no choice but to skip school whenever the red tsunami strikes as they are unable to afford sanitary products.
I have always admired people who are driven to help the less privileged and I am sharing a campaign by Angela, who is currently spending 5 months in Kenya to kickstart a project on distributing a year's supply of pads to 300 Kenyan schoolgirls or more!
I have been blessed with the opportunity to bless others and I hope when you read this, you will want to be a blessing too. All you need to do is visit @winghertoschool , click on the link and donate any amount you're comfortable with. (If you do not have the means to do so, just help to spread the word or get pad brands to sponsor them) #kenyaaidtheflow #WingHerToSchool
