Bub is measuring somewhere around 18 inches (45.7 cm), the size of a savoy cabbage, and weighs about 5 lbs (2.25 kg). He or she is still using your immune system to help build her own but is pretty close to having fully developed their lungs, brain, and central nervous system.
Some symptoms you might be experiencing right now are swollen feet, blurry vision, constipation, and hemorrhoids. Don’t worry, this is all normal… unfortunately, but if you are feeling extremely uncomfortable or something just doesn’t feel right, make sure you let your health care provider know.
If you are experiencing back pain and can’t seem to get any relief, I would suggest paying the Chiropractor a visit. I have found that I get a lot of relief from the pain and discomfort I was feeling, and I feel like ensuring my back in in alignment will help me with labour and birth. Talk to your doctor about it, or do a bit of research on the benefits of Chiropractic during pregnancy. I can say first hand it’s worked!! Have you taken or do you plan to take classes at your hospital? If you don’t know anything about them, ask your midwife or doctor. I start mine tonight. I’ll let you know what they include once I get through a couple. I’ve been told it fills you in on all the practical aspects of giving birth (where you will be, what happens, what happens in an emergency). There are also extra classes you can take if you feel you need a little more info or support. You can take breast feeding classes, calm birth classes, parenting classes and much more. Search for birth classes in your area to see what is available to you, or just ask your health care provider what is available or what they’d recommend. You can never have too much info.
How are you feeling? Ready for child birth? Ready to become a Mum? If you are feeling a little overwhelmed, make sure you reach out for some support. If you can’t get it in your immediate surroundings, it is always available through communities such as ours and medical providers. Look after yourself and that little bub. 💝
