β€œWeighing yourself cures scale anxiety” I FUCKING HATE that sentence. I can’t do it and I won’t do it. In fact I couldn’t help but cringe TAKING this photo and my toes never even pressed down on that scale. .

Some days my scale anxiety is less then others some days I can step on it and not mentally attach myself to those numbers but guess what as of recently most days I can’t. Right now I am at a low with my relationship with the scale. Does that make me still a slave to my eating disorder? Uh NO, it makes me NOT a slave to the scale and makes me very very free of my eating disorder. When I had bulimia I stepped on that scale daily and spent hours freaking out over the numbers causing me to act on my eating disorder. I FINALLY can accept the fact that I can live in ignorance of my weight FOR MY MENTAL HEALTH. I am choosing my own mental sanity over a number on a scale. It makes me cringe watching people who have such a hard time separating themselves from the scale being forced to do daily/weekly weigh ins. I can’t speak for others but I will never force anyone to weigh themselves if it puts their mental health at risk. I’ve been there, I understand, I’ve had the restricting/binging leading to obsessive weighing. I’ve walked towards the scale with what felt like led feet. I won’t force someone else to go through that. .

There are ways to get results without the scale. Are macros the most effective way? Sure, but is it worth your mental health. Nope. As far as my macros go at the beginning of my cut I weighed myself and figured out how much I should be eating to maintain with a fluctuation of 5 pounds so as long as I’m cutting below that I’m fine ( it’s like a 75 cal difference) . If I decide I want to weigh myself when I go off my diet I will. I’m not thinking that far ahead im taking it day by day and learning to love my bodies changes

Not everyone won’t be able to use it but they are out there. So STOP telling others to get on the scale to not be scared of it if it’s mentally dangerous for them, work with those who can’t use this as a measurement of progress, understand some people have a dangerousus relationship with the scale and can’t use it.

The discipline that it takes to lose weight is probably the hardest part for me! All my life when something got hard I would just quit. I wouldn’t challenge myself to overcome the struggles.

At the end of June I’m going on a little trip with my man and some friends and I have to be a certain weight to do one of the activities. When finding out this information my mindset went back to the old me and I quickly started doubting myself.

I decided to put an end to that TODAY! I’m going to prove to myself that I can do WHATEVER it takes to accomplish this goal! Mark my wordsπŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ’―
