Meet new DPT@USC student: Adrian Go (DPT ‘21)
“When faced with challenges, I tell myself if I can get through what I did as a child, I can get through anything,” says Adrian Go, 25, a new DPT@USC student. At the age of 8, Go was diagnosed with leukemia. While injecting medication into his spine, doctors nicked his spinal cord, leaving him temporarily unable to walk. With help from a physical therapist, Go was able to get back up on his feet, beat leukemia and go on to lead an incredibly active lifestyle. The Northridge-based personal trainer plans to apply this same fighting spirit to his doctor of physical therapy studies as part of the inaugural hybrid online/on-campus class. “The program is really great,” Go says. “The online lectures are terrific. After you finish, you do a short essay, applying what you just learned. I like that because when you move on from that lecture, you really have an idea of what’s going on.” Go will take part in the division’s White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 23.
