October 27th, @linkinpark at the @hollywoodbowl is a night that will stay with me forever. It was cathartic, healing and glorious, and it was devastating, somber and heartbreaking. But for all that it was, I am so glad I got to attend. I am blessed I got to be there.
I have loved Linkin Park since I was 14 years old. I was lucky to have a couple So. Cal "skater boy" friends who, thanks to the wonders of AIM and dial-up internet, introduced me to this new band, Xero, who would become Linkin Park. They told me to follow the band, become a "Soldier" and spread the word. And I did because I liked what I heard. 20 years later I have no regrets.
I was devastated by Chester's death. Already dealing with deeply personal issues of my own, his death was a blow I did not know how to handle. I cried over a celebrity, a man I'd only met twice but was fortunate enough to see perform dozens of times. I cried Friday night too. I cried and sang my heart out with thousands of other fans - my family - and a band trying to find their way.
@m_shinoda singing, "Looking for an Answer" was so poignant and breathtaking and heartbreaking that I can't get it out of my head. Nor can I forget the chills of thousands singing for Chester on "Numb" and "In the End." This was an experience stamped into my heart. Branded into my soul. And seeing @talindabe__official speak was so moving. She is a warrior.
I can't properly explain what it means to be part of the #LPFamily. We are a special group who love one another, even if we've never met. "If someone falls, you pick them up" is an important motto to us. No one knows what the future holds and that's okay. As @chesterbe said, we need to be there for each other and love one another.
Thank you, #LinkinPark for an amazing tribute 💟🖤💟 @phoenixlp @lpassociation @lplive @lpfancorner #lpambassadors #WeAreLinkinPark #MakeChesterProud #LPLove #WeAreLPU #LPU #underground #streetsoldier #LPSoldier #fuckdepression #LPLove
