Honest moment. I am a creature of habit. I run a similar course and always go to this tree stump to do some post-run stretching and work on balance poses. I like to do this because I’m warm, but also fatigued and a little tight, increasing the challenge and benefit of the balance practice. Sometimes habits can be both a benefit and a detriment. My training aside from martial arts has mostly been an individual sport and habits like these can increase my sense of isolation. That’s a big reason of why I share it here. I appreciate the support because it makes me feel less alone, more so than any appeal of vanity or ego, though I’m self aware and honest enough not to deny those entirely.
This was my strongest run to date in my rebooted running career. I beat the 5 mile goal I have just hit the other day and did so with a much faster pace. This run had 10 30-second sprints built in after a 20 minute warmup. I hit the same wall at the 3.5 mile mark and bounced out at about the 4 mile mark. Gonna have to train that away. Unfortunately @strava did not record the 1st mile of the run on the map and I have a hard time trusting the split data, but the overall time and distance is accurate.
