When it comes to muscle hypertrophy there are many ways to go about it. The most reliable way to grow is by PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD. Y’all know that by now. Get stronger. But there are other tools - like tension and cell swelling. This right here is a cell swelling based exercise! CELL SWELLING AKA THE PUMP. Not super focused on a tempo. Just focused on getting blood into the muscle and KEEPING IT THERE - as you can see. This is called Blood Flow Restriction Training or Kaatsu. Practically I tie the wraps very very tight. (Tighter than I would recommend). Then I bang out 15 reps, stretch for 2 minutes - let the blood flow force the legs to expand, reduce the weight, and then bang out another 15, then hit partials, then reduce the load and hit a few more reps. Give it a go!
