⛪ St Mary’s Cathedral took my breath away when I first went inside. Such a grand building commanded reverence and humbleness like nothing I've experienced before. The cathedral began construction in 1821, but was destroyed in a fire in 1865. Architect William Wardell designed the new cathedral, which was officially completed in 2000. Taking nearly 100 years to complete, it's now Australia’s largest Cathedral building, made of honey-coloured Sydney sandstone.
