Twilight illuminates the southern end of the massive Canadian Rockwall while larch show off their golden colors. There's a magical light that happens well before sunrise in the high country, when the peaks glow in deep hues and actually appear brighter than the sky. Using large format film it ends up being a very narrow window of time when you can capture such light, as the exposures would be impossibly long before it happens and then very quickly the colors disappear and the sky gets too bright. The exposure is rather lengthy and typically around 2 minutes but the colors that come out on Velvia are surreal. I've been enjoying capturing this light, what do you think about the unusual colors?
