RIP Staff Sgt Dalida #DOL #qcourse #USASOC #greenberet Four personnel were still hospitalized Friday evening, one day after a training incident on Fort Bragg, North Carolina, killed one soldier and injured seven others, officials from U.S. Special Operations Command said.

The Army on Thursday announced that Staff Sgt. Alexander Dalida, 32, died in the incident, which occurred during demolitions training with students and cadre from the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

Dalida was enrolled in the Special Forces Qualification Course at the Special Warfare Center and School.

Three of the injured were treated and released Thursday. USASOC would not release additional information on the four who are still in the hospital, citing privacy concerns.

An observer from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is one of the seven people injured, according to USASOC. He received minor injuries.

Seven others were injured in the Thursday morning incident, which happened during demolitions training, according to U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

Media reports in the aftermath of the incident said as many as four soldiers had been killed, USASOC spokesman Lt. Col. Robert Bockholt pushed back against those reports on Thursday night, calling those reports “incorrect.”

SFC Gregory D. Cardott, KIA during Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti. His final actions protected a fellow 3rd SFG Green Beret after he was shot by a local. Cardott selflessly and compassionately attempted to detain the attacker without using lethal force, ultimately sacrificing his life to save his partner.

Reflections before ops-there is no fear, I can hit a target full of terrorist like I hit the gas station for a keg of blue monster. Fear is trained out of you, in instances where you are on the fringe, where you feel life slip... you refocus and recompose. I've casually been in gun fights, throwing grenades, getting shot at. In teaching-I teach that negative reactions/typically inaction can be trained to clear-laser focused conscious acts of correct and trued life saving reactions. This takes experience, training, and the right equipment. We ride the rails of complacency-and keeping ourselves in check is the most deliberate and active component to professional first responders. You want to survive-train, train, and train again, push your limits within the bounds of "safe" and never stop learning. #specialforces #ranger #marsoc #cif #fieldcraftllc #fieldcraftsurvival #sof #sf #rltw #usasoc #army #tigerstripes
