I get it, there are a lot of fad diets out there and if you’re new to Keto, this could seem like one big gimmick : “eat fat and lose fat??” REALLY?
Everything we have been told since childhood is to eliminate fat. That fat clogs arteries, raises cholesterol, gets you fat and so on... it’s true. Fat does do all that WHEN we are using glycogen as our main fuel source. See the problem isn’t fat. Our bodies naturally store fat for fuel. If fat was so bad, why would the body store it for fuel? The real issue is there’s too much sugar in our diets.
Carbs convert to sugar when not used as energy and then you add in there that most drinks we consume have sugar in it plus the meals that we eat that are low fat substitute the fat for more sugar!! Sugar not then used converts to fat! The other problem with typical diets is when the body doesn’t have enough glucose (sugar) it’ll then breakdown muscle to find sugar to feed it. Often times the weight we lose isn’t fat at all but rather muscle and leaves our bodies looking “flabby” rather than tight.
Keto may not be for everyone, but I truly believe it is a much better option for most.
