LOS ANGELES: Tomorrow sees the opening of the inaugural exhibition at the @marcianoartfoundation, a new contemporary art space in Los Angeles. ’Unpacking: The Marciano Collection’ draws from the Foundation’s collection of over 1500 artworks. #SterlingRuby, #TheasterGates, @Kaws, #MarkBradford, @Anish.Kapoor, #ChrisOfili, #RirkritTiravanija, @studioOlafurEliasson, #RobinRhode, @TakashiPom, #MatthewBarney and #CyprienGaillard are just some of the artists whose work can be found in the collection.
Founded by brothers Paul and Maurice Marciano - the two behind the GUESS? empire - the Marciano Art Foundation has been built through their passion for art. The brothers began collecting art from the 1990’s forward in 2006, when in 2012 they decided to share it with others.
The Marciano Art Foundation’s new home is in the Windsor Sq neighbourbood in LA, held in a former Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, the building was renovated by #KulapatYantrasast of @whyheywhynot Architecture and Design.
