Learning to pause, take a step back, and check-in with ourselves is a really important part of getting healthier. .
We allow ourselves to see what might not be working for us. .
We get the chance to recognize how we might be sabotaging our efforts. .
And hopefully become willing to take the next step, which is to change those behaviors. .
But it does take time. And patience. And a willingness to look and be honest with ourselves. .
And honestly, this process is never finished. .
It is EXACTLY what I am doing this VERY morning...journaling, reflecting, talking to a friend. .
Because we ALL are, and forever will be, WORKS IN PROGRESS. .
It’s not easy work. It’s usually the work we skip over. That’s what I did...for years! .
But I can speak from my own experience that THIS part is where we learn how to shed that which does not serve us, so that we can gradually minimize self-sabotage and grow into the life we are meant to live. .
