12.4.17 I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to have a ‘full plate’. I have come to the conclusion that we almost all have full plates. Perhaps we have different foods on our plates, and maybe some of us have a little more junk food. It’s possible some of us can eat all the food on the proverbial plate and feel great, while some of us can only eat half, and still end up with a tummy ache. At the end of the day though, I think a full plate is a full plate and kudos to ALL of us for attempting to balance that plate the best we can. Lately my plate has been filled with work (so. much. work), house chores, holiday gift-list making, worrying about #LittleRichieM and him not getting sick this winter, figuring out insurance obstacles, sorting through six different shared calendars and days filled with meetings and appointments....and all the nooks and crannies on my plate are filled with sweet baby giggles, watching Bubble Guppies, dancing, tickling stinky feet, and nearly crying from joy when the silliest milestone is hit. My plate is filled with fruit and veggies and meat and cookies and grains and everything else from this big old buffet of life. I hope your plates are filled with mostly good stuff, too.
