I got a jumping rope! 😍 I'm a horrible jumper, so I bought a jumping rope to try to improve... and all I ended up doing was figuring out where NOT to jump rope in the house (basically just don't), and attempting not to fall on my face or trip over the rope! So my new jumping area is now this really cold place called the garage 🙄
I almost didn't post this photo because of the camera angle and the way my sweater is positioned it looks like I have a huge stomach! Ive gotta be honest: Negativity set in for a solid 5 minutes. I've actually lost a couple inches, and while it's still a bit pudgy, it's relatively flat. 😄 I feel pretty sensitive about my stomach, so posting this is kind of hard.
But look at my face! I was listening to #TheGreatestShowman (because This Is The Greatest Show is 5 minutes long which is perfect for warmup) and I was super pumped jumping rope, and attempting to sing at the same time, that I ran up to the camera and struck a pose and belted out during Keala Settle's high notes! 💃I don't want to let my negative feelings about me get in the way of making memories with myself or others. Because this is going to be a good memory. I'm taking a step in the right direction. This is the moment where I told myself I am strong, independant, confident, and I'm pretty dang proud of myself for trying to live a healthier life. Now, I've got to go pet my cat because she won't leave me alone, then go for a walk!

Alrighty!
So y’know how hubby and I had this brilliant plan in place for me to hit the gym when he gets home at 1730 from work?
Yeah, nah.
That didn’t happen.
Didn’t quite go to plan.
You see, this gorgeous little munchkin decided her daddy’s first week back at work would be the perfect time to act up.
Outta nowhere she’s unsettled,
taking hours to put down for a sleep,
and mummy has had little to no rest.
Hubby has come home from work to a clingy baby and a zombie wife. Not a perfect pair!

I put the gym on hold the first 3 days of the week and hubby gave me a few hours of solid sleep when he arrived home from work instead.

Now today is my first day feeling like a tide has turned. Little Evelyn slept for 3hrs after each feed during the night (winning!)
She’s been pretty chilled out so far today too.
As for me, I feel like a new woman after some solid sleep, a shower and a hot coffee. Things I’ve taken for granted in the past.

You can have all the plans in the world but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow and wing it.
I’m not losing sight of my goals,
I’m just accepting and acknowledging that there’s gonna be speed humps along the way that slow me down, and that’s okay.
Slow progress is better than no progress at all.
And when I have this little bundle of love in my arms, it makes the ride all the more worthwhile.

Took luca to the Y and had a blast swimming with him. I then decided it was time for me to suck it up and work on myself. So I worked out for a bit and now I'm enjoying a sweat fest in the sauna

One area I still struggle with is my core. 2 years post section and I still haven’t regained feeling internally. Slowly I’m getting there and I’m confident my muscles are coming back together but I’m only human, and honestly, I want results quicker. I suffered complications after that left me unable to train for ages and whilst that’s no excuse now, I just want my stomach to feel normal again. Slow results can be frustrating but progress is progress and I’m adamant I will get there.

Post treadmill, mid-day snack:: there isn’t much that compares to the stress release of an exhausting walk/run session on the treadmill. It’s one of the few things that makes me feel like me anymore 🙏🏻 Slow progress to get where I’m trying to be physically (and mentally) but treating each day like it’s own and working on being present 🧘🏻‍♀️
Snack:: Tomato & avocado topped with Himalayan pink sea salt, black pepper and garlic, hummus with hemp hearts and a whole wheat wrap.

If y’all watched my story you know I’m dealing with some post comp, body image feels. But a few of you mentioned “how it all started and to remember where I came from” ... So I dug out my first check in photo which happened to be EXACTLY 3️⃣ years ago. I was starving myself, binge eating, didn’t even know how to use the machines at the gym never mind pick up some weights, and I was SO self conscious I would avoid the beach.

Today.. I’m eating 3X more, strong AF, and have a booty 🍑. Should I be complaining .. no! So shoutout to the people that made me look at the big picture. This sport takes time, patience, consistency, commitment, and self love. Even though I have some bad days I will remember this for the future.

I don’t want to be that girl on insta trying to find the perfect angle to look good and get likes .. but to show ME in everyday life and inspire others that every shape can be beautiful.

I'm so proud! My trainer thought I could do 2 sets of 2 bench press at 95 lbs today. My 1RM (one rep max) is 100 lbs. But I surprised him (and me!)!!!! I did *five* sets!!! FIVE!!!!!! At 95 lbs!!!! ::::happy dance::::: I'm getting so strong :-) It's taking for-freaking-EVER, but I really am making progress!!! :-) And all that with only 9 functional fingers and one still in a splint! (I'm going to be a 9-fingered #nightnurse for at least 3 more weeks). I'm so proud of myself! #BatNurse FTW!

Good morning everybody! Apparently this caption doesn't want to stay as I've written it twice! 🤔 It's a beautiful day! Got up early and did arms and abs, then made breakfast, and wrote a letter to my brother in law. My mom called me shortly after my walk last night to let me know I had received a letter frim him. I couldnt wait to read it so I had her read my letters to me with family listening in. I laughed, I cried, and felt a whole spectrum of emotions. Then I was super thankful that I had no sweets in the house (mainly because I ate them already), so I ended up doing a hiit session and went to bed early. Now I'm super excited to take on today! Today was hard. I didn’t want too. I didn’t sleep well last night, I was super tired. I just wanted to try and sleep more. But I didn’t. I got up and went to the gym. And now I feel so much better! My legs are surprisingly sore. The journey is the destination. .
