Относительно молодая винокурня #LochLomond - 1965, но #whisky от этого никак не хуже, а даже очень!)) #Glengarry, 12 лет, #singlemalt, выдержаны в дубовых бочках, бочках из-под бурбона и в обожженных бочках. 46°, но их не чувствуешь. Цвет золотистый. Мягкий. По вкусу - яблоко, манго, и в конце немножко дыма. 👍 #singlemaltscotchwhisky
Just taking a bit of time off - from everything. Walked up to the top of Glen Clova over to Broad Cairn and found a braw wee spot to camp for the night. Obviously, had a drop or two of @glenfiddichwhisky to relax with.
In front our two spirit stills, John and George, at the back our two wash stills, Tim and Tony. All four stills were made to our specification to achieve an aromatic, flavourful, unpeated #singlemaltscotchwhisky. Whilst much depends on maturation we at this stage seek balance, symmetry and a lightness of touch. 📷: Keith Hunter
We have filled over 1200 casks since November 2017. Our casks are lying quietly maturing as each day passes.
Did you know, the location of a warehouse and the position of the barrels can affect maturation? Casks at the bottom of a row will mature at a different rate to those at the top, and a warehouse by the sea may contribute salty characteristics!
New on the Mule, my review of Longrow Red Cab Franc. My previous two reviews were of limited edition peated whiskies, both of which I found disappointing. Would it be three disappointments in a row? Hell no, this Longrow is stellar. Bursting with fruit, especially cherry, a nice touch of milk chocolate, wonderfully balanced peat smoke, and a lovely bit of strawberry rhubarb.
