When I was a little girl, I read Teen Vogue, Seventeen, FITNESS, SHAPE and TIME on rotation as soon as they arrived in my parent's mailbox. 📬 I always wondered...what does it take to be in one of these? 🤔 I knew I wasn't cut out to be a traditional model so I'd need to do something worth reading about! Years later, my first magazine inclusion happened at 22. @shape magazine featured some of the coolest new fitness things on the market and I didn't even know they put my oGorgeous yoga bags in there until I got a text from a friend. I remember asking my boss for an early lunch to drive out to Target to find this magazine. Shaking, I flipped the pages too fast when I went through it the first time. So I slowed down, went page by page, and as soon as I saw it, my heart stopped, I started to cry, and I just sat there, melted on the linoleum floor thinking, "I've got to do more with my life." I quit my job, bought a ticket to China on Friday and left the country on Sunday ✈️ to attend one of the world's biggest manufacturing fairs. Yes, it was risky. But who better to take a risk on than yourself? And the rest...is history. 📚 Guys, I'm so happy to share with you my cover for @shape_sg!!! I literally cannot believe this!!! Little Cassey wondered if one day she'd ever do something impactful enough to be on a magazine cover, and to be honest, adult Cassey pushed that thought to the back of her head but kept grinding. 👊 I am HONORED to be the cover girl for a magazine I read all the time as a kid. Thank YOU GUYS for believing in me, in @poppilatesofficial, in @popflex_active, in #piit28 and in the entire #popster community. I could work a lot harder. I know my potential. I know what I am capable of. Sometimes I get lazy and lose motivation. Sometimes I look for others to do stuff for me instead of doing them on my own. Sometimes I move in an 'average' way. My goal is to work on changing those habits - day by day. I wasn't put on this earth to be average and to be honest, none of us were. We all have the potential to be so great! We are capable of doing so much. We need to not limit ourselves. #liftlikeagirl 💪🏾🎀

intuitive eating rocks! 🕺

it was on my heart to share some personal tid-bits about myself in this post. I was remembering today the days when I had a troublesome relationship with food where I would only eat little meals to get full on little calories, or deprive myself of carbs when all I wanted was a thick piece of bread, or not eat fats, or only eat vegan even though I was dying for a bowl of yogurt and a piece of salmon 💆🏼 it's great to see how much has changed though. eating disorders are not easy. you live with such a busy mind that tells you to not eat this and eat that, planning your meals for the full day to calculate how many calories you will consume and how to sweat them off. you also live with a damaged view of yourself and your body that it is hard to feel beautiful though people may compliment you on the daily. but with the right people helping you through it and altering your view of food from calories to --> yummy nutrients and your body as an amazing creation of God that works everyday to give you breath and life, it's possible to enjoy food again. it's also FREEING. both in the sense of eating whatever you freakin want but also in the sense of ENJOYING the food you eat and actually feeling satisfied by eating it. it's such a simple thing, but that's one of the biggest lows when you have an eating disorder. I thank God that I'm no longer afraid of foods like donuts and muffins and ice cream and bacon and burgers while at the same time feel sooo content and satisfied with eating this bowl of greens + fish. my body was craving salmon and fresh vegetables like crazy so I honored it. there is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" food. ALL foods are awesome. it's such a milestone reaching this point, and can I just say, man am I proud of myself. it's taken me a looong time to reach this point, but I'm so happy I'm here. I hope to one day make a difference and help others who are struggling with this reach that point as well as a dietitian. thanks to all of you for following my journey. much love to you all ✌🏼❤️

Yesterday was a day for LOVE, so I dedicated my practice to opening my heart. Always fascinates me that in pregnancy one is supposed to be hyper flexible, and I have never felt more tight in my back than when pregnant (might have to do with that ever expanding belly and changing spine!) This was my very gentle warm up, to wake up my spine for deeper heart opening to come. I always find that gentle kindness towards the body wins - especially when it's cranky to start - no forcing here 💕 #4monthspregnant

Think exercising is boring? Besides thinking in terms of "training" for something (a 5k) instead of "time to exercise"-- shake things up. Try different moves. Find what you like. There is no shortage of info out there. I've collected work out pages from magazines like #selfmagazine and #shapemagazine for a while. Today I bought a binder and dividers. The first tab has the plan with my workout schedule. The 2nd tab is "this week." I will pull pages from sections into "this week" to try those moves. I will put an x next to those exercises I think are worth repeating. I marked every page so I can easily tell what section it will go back into (c cardio, b loer body).
