It might seem harmless and a normal construction site but this is indeed a deadly view of the future.
You’re looking at the potential site of the Cricket Valley Power Station
We host the New Moon Mycology Summit in the Wingdale area for several reasons. One being, that it’s very close to public transit while still be in a rural setting.
Second because this area is the future site to the largest fracked gas power plant destined to be built on the East Coast. This photo is the beginning stages of future devastation of the wild, of forests, of homes of both animals and humans. This power plant is being designed and engineer by the jack-offs that were responsible for #fukushima remember that epic disaster that is still spilling radiation into the Pacific?
So we are here this week to build something else. To educate people that there’s another way. That we resist. We organize. We show and stand in solidarity with the families, communities and non-human animals, plants, fungi, the water, the mountains and the Earth below.
That we resent these systems of death and profit for the few.
That there IS ANOTHER WAY and there is a better way.
So when you arrive this weekend keep in mind this isn’t about just us. It’s about all the life present. It’s about making change and finding the connections and the communities to do so. To keep the fight going. To protect.
On that note. We want to include and verify the full line up for our Saturday evening
Water Protector Panel Discussion
Joining us will be:
Owl from @splitrocksweetwaterprayercamp
Elise Gerhart from Camp White Pine
Valeria Gheorghiu from Enlighten Law
Jordan Davis-regional Earth defender & Donna Coane as well an indigenous #schaghticoke elder.
Fuck fracking and all the deadly infrastructure and exploitation that goes with its existence.
See you this weekend!
