This was a great episode but I’m a tiny bit disappointed.
But first, we finally got to see what Mary and Jack are up to. I missed my nougat-loving Nephilim (which still surprises me because at the end of Season 12 I was sure I was gonna hate him). I love how he’s fighting Michael’s angels, but still has something childlike and innocent to him and doesn’t really think thinks through which could potentially be his downfall. It’s so nice to see that Mary accepted Jack - her grandson - and counts him as one of her boys.
Now, Gabriel is back (again) and this time he has a kill list and I must say I love his handwriting. I’m glad to see he didn’t immediately go back to the way things were before he was tortured for years because that just would’ve been unrealistic and this way we found out more about his (more recent) history and who would’ve thought our favorite Trickster could look so angry, I love it when we get to see sides of characters we haven’t seen before.
The reason I’m a tiny bit disappointed in this episode is Kevin. Osric was incredible as always of course but I love my Kevin and I would’ve loved to see more of him than we got. But I’m not complaining, at least we got him back for a little while and that’s better than nothing.
Another thing that I enjoyed a lot (and always enjoy) is looking at Dean’s face and knowing exactly what he’s thinking, I applaud Jensen here for his great acting👏🏼
One last thing, in the end when Dean explained why he’s been doing things without Sam, that he’s afraid to lose him again like he did the first time the apocalypse happened almost made me cry. That’s what I love about this season, it references a lot of things that happened many years ago and assures me/is that it’s still the same show and that they didn’t forget where they came from. And then I actually might’ve shed a tear when Sam said that (this time) they would die together and it reminded me that one day this show will end and on that day my heart will break into a billion pieces. ✘
