David vs Goliath - April 27 2018
Today marks the two year anniversary of @davidfranciscomusic accident, where he was left paralyzed after being struck by a vehicle on his bike. This week we set a goal of running the ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon’ in Nashville on April 25th2020. This gives us 2 years to train and prepare for this #impossiblegoal.
Our goal is to complete this marathon together with whoever wants to join us! This goal scares us both, and seems highly unlikely at this point in our journey. I asked is David what his biggest fear was and his reply was simple: failure. I had to remind him that I am by no means a runner either, so we agreed that we’d need to lean on each other for support and stay focused on our mission even if it seemed impossible. A coach once told me “Failure breeds Success”, and I believe they were right. We are willing to fail at this in order to achieve a greater victory, one that has yet to entirely reveal itself.
In life we will achieve the things we work hard towards, the things that are most important to us. This marathon is important to us and we will spend the next 2 years (728 days) working towards it. We plan to document our journey in hopes to inspire YOU to set “Impossible Goals”, and embark on a journey that WILL change YOUR lives for the better.
On April 25 2020, we will be running in the ‘Rock ‘n’Roll’ Nashville Marathon; almost 4 years to the day that Goliath struck a blow to David’s life path, and in the very same city. We are going full circle, and plan to visit the exact spot and experience some tears of joy instead of pain.
David is an inspiration, and someone I admire; it will be an honor to do everything in my power to help this lad achieve his #impossiblegoal.
Here he is putting in work this week!
