In case you missed it. @Regranned from @creativesoulphoto - I can’t even begin to tell you how many OMG moments we’ve had this week. This week has definitely been a game changer for our company. It is so cool to see our work and the beautiful kids we’ve photographed being celebrated across the globe. Just this past week we’ve been contacted by ModernMet, Yahoo, TheDailyMail UK, Buzzfeed, Glamour Brasil, Vanity Fair Italy, BET, TheRoot, BoredPanda, AJ+, NowHer and a host of others to do features on our AfroArt series. And to top it off celebrities such as Common, Tia Mowry and Morris Chestnut helped to spread the word even more. To say we’re shocked would be an understatement but most of all thankful/grateful that the world is able to see the beauty in these girls that we’ve seen all along. This journey has not been easy to say the least, but we’ve kept grinding and stayed focus on our passion regardless of the opinions of others. When we started on this journey we were constantly told that “the mainstream” kids fashion magazines wouldn’t want to feature our work because it’s “too ethnic”. I was also told that I was crazy for leaving my “comfy” corporate job for this “hobby”. We kept pushing and this year decided to aim higher. It’s amazing to see our efforts pay off since the days of shooting out of our own garage. We are going to continue to push this even further and continue to reach new heights. Our girls deserve to be celebrated, not hidden and we will continue to do so for as long as possible. Finally, I just wanted to give a shout out to the team around us that has made it possible for us to get to where we are today. Lachanda for helping us to take our art to the next level on hair and putting up with our crazy travel adventures. Kiki for being a visionary and pushing the limits on wardrobe. Sherita , Maraz, and Jada for holding us down on hair/makeup when we’re at home and for always having our backs when needed. Inger for being our front line cheerleader, and keeping us halfway sane on a daily basis. RoseMarie for getting us into places I never thought was possible, AJ for being the greatest assistant ever and of course my mom for pitching in.
