Follow 👣 @consciousvibrancy (CNN) A statue of a sitting Buddha that made its way from a temple in China to a market in the Netherlands revealed an extraordinary secret -- a 1,000-year-old mummified monk.

The mummy was discovered, encased in a cavity in the statue, when a private buyer brought it to an expert for restoration. It's unclear when or how the statue was removed from China.

But it wasn't until a team of researchers and scientists did a CT scan -- a comprehensive three dimensional x-ray image -- did they discover the mummy's organs were missing. "We thought it would be lung tissue, but instead we found little scraps of paper covered with Chinese characters," said Vincent van Vilsteren, an archaeology curator from Drents Museum.

The mummy was found sitting on a bundle of cloth covered in Chinese inscriptions, revealing its identity as a Buddhist monk called Liuquan who may have practiced "self-mummification" to prepare for life after death.

The process of self-mummification is a known tradition in countries like Japan, China and Thailand, and was practiced over a thousand years ago.

The elaborate and arduous process includes eating a special diet and drinking a poisonous tea so the body would be too toxic to be eaten by maggots. The few monks that were able to successfully complete the process were highly revered. "We suspect that for the first 200 years, the mummy was exposed and worshiped in a Buddhist temple in China... only in the 14th century did they do all the work to transform it into a nice statue," said van Vilsteren.

The statue is now housed in the National Museum of Natural History in Budapest and will move to Luxembourg in May as a part of an international tour. #Consciousvibrancy

| HEALING ONIONS | Leeks, chives, ramps, scallions, red onions, yellow onions, white onions, shallots, and any other type of allium you enjoy are nature’s antibiotics. Unfortunately, people don’t often eat a high volume of onions—maybe just a wedge in soup once a month, or a slice once a week on top of salad. To truly benefit from onions’ antibacterial qualities, we have to make them more central to our lives.
Some people complain of digestive distress when they eat onions. Contrary to popular belief, though, onions are not irritants. Rather, they’re highly medicinal. An upset stomach from onions is an indication that someone has an elevated level of unproductive bacteria in the digestive tract. The onions are working to eliminate that bacteria, and the resulting die-off can translate to temporary discomfort.
One particular condition that many people deal with these days is SIBO, which is largely a mystery to the medical eld. What’s usually responsible for this small intestinal bacterial overgrowth are Streptococcus A and B, various strains of E. coli, C. difficile, H. pylori, Staphylococcus, and/or different varieties of fungus (excluding Candida, the natural fungus that we need to survive). Onions are one of the most accomplished foods on the planet for keeping down bacterial overgrowth in the body, making them a star for anyone who deals with SIBO.
This quality also enhances the body’s production of B12. If you avoid onions because of a sensitive digestive tract, try adding them back into your diet in very small amounts at first. Over time, their cleansing effect will enable you to tolerate larger servings of them.

Spending the night here before heading to Byron Bay tomorrow 😊 I’m posting this delicious and simple salad I made in Barcelona last week 🍃 Kale, figs, avocado, homemade macadamia raw cheese, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, pomegranate seeds, and black garlic 🖤 Everything organic and so good for you. For the dressing I just massaged the kale leaves with lemon juice, salt & black pepper, and added a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil at the end. Simplicity at its best! Mango Chia Pudding Smoothie Cups for an after school snack! My boys were homeschooled for about 3 or 4 years as we travelled but they’re now loving being back at their original little beach school in NZ... which means school lunches 🙈 I’m not used to that!? Sooo one of the things we’ve been making to take are big batches of chia pudding... and mango is by far their fav flavour!
So easy! And such a good alternative to yoghurt.
2 - 3 cups frozen mango
1 bpa free can organic pure coconut milk
1/4 cup nut milk
2 tbs pure maple
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Transfer into a bowl and mix in 1/3 cup chia seeds until well combined. Cover and place in the fridge over night. Done! 👌🏽

Two great ways to add more fresh and healthy ingredients to your pets kibble: add raw egg and organic coconut oil! 😃 You can feed the shell (unbleached) for extra calcium as well. When including these two in a meal, you will feed a little less kibble than usual since you're adding to their meal. Serving amounts: feed quail, duck, farm fresh or brown chicken eggs 3-4 times a week. If your dog has allergies, quail and duck eggs are best. Coconut oil: 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds of dog. Introduce these two with smaller portions to avoid digestive upset in the beginning. 🐶🥚(Note: This is not my personal dogs meal)

Ich ich hatte heute eine kleine Krise hier mit meinem Account. Aufgrund der Abstimmung in meiner Story habe ich herausgefunden dass doch einige hier gibt, die nur an essen interessiert sind. Und das ist auch ok ... doch ich möchte mehr mit meinem Account bewirken. Die Essensbilder sollen doch zumindest meistens nur ein Blickfang sein. Ein Aufhänger um etwas tiefer gehendes zu vermitteln...nicht immer aber doch öfter. Ich fühlte mich etwas verkannt und nicht wertgeschätzt. Doch dann entschloss ich mich, das ja ich die bin die entscheidet was hier passiert. Und langfristig werde ich auch nur damit Erfolg haben wenn ich tue was ich liebe. Und das solltet ihr alle tun...
Und so mache ich auch weiter. Klar berücksichtige ich eure wünsche... aber es bleibt mein Weg... es würde mich interessieren wer meine caption liest!!!

Någon som blir sugen på raw bountybitar? 😁
Här kommer receptet:
2,5 dl cashewnötter
2,5 dl riven kokos
8 dadlar
1 msk agavesirap
1 msk kokosolja
200 g mörk choklad
Mixa nötterna, och tillsätt kokos, dadlar, agavesirap och kokosolja. Mixa ihop allt och forma degen till en rektangel ca 20 cm lång, 7 cm bred (eller gör bollar). Om rektangel, skär upp bitar som är ca 2 cm breda. Sätt in i kylen. Smält sedan chokladen och doppa bitarna och lägg dem på en plåt med bakplåtspapper. Strö över kokos. Sätt in i kylen tills chokladen stelnat.

先日、時々思い出した時にお世話になってる✨漢方屋✨さんで、血液や血管、心負担の状態を無料ですが観て頂きました😘🌡
目に見えて数字にすると、身体が確実に変わっているのが分かります💕
