#FAMILYFRIDAY—Today we wanted to highlight a story from a long time Run To Win supporter Ray O’Breen. Ray serves on the Missions Team at CCF (Community Christian Fellowship) in Edmonds, WA. Recently Ray shared a story about hearing Mike speak at a camp 40 years ago. During this time Mike had been working for FCA! Here is what Ray said:
In Mike’s speech that day it was clear that God enabled him to overcome an injury and become an inspired and dynamic young man, and dedicated to leading other young men to that marvelous path that leads to Jesus Christ, his Savior and Lord! I was maybe early thirties at that time, and his sharing was super meaningful to me. I had become a devout Christian at age 26 and was now married with a very young son, and perhaps my daughter was an infant. I needed a lot of inspiration to grow in my faith, encouragement to stay strong, and edification in other ways. Mike had that quality and a gift of communication to motivate. I am so thankful to Mike and other men who helped me in those formative years. Eventually, God called me to being an encourager and exhorter in fellowship with men as well. I am now realizing that God planted a seed in me through Mike at that time. Then, around ten years later, my family and I moved further north and became regular attenders at CCF. Mike, Karen and family were CCF’ers at that time. We became reacquainted, and I then learned that God had called Karen and him to start RTW. The blessing of God to that ministry is now history, with an expansion and success that is amazing. I have been on the CCF Missions Team for many years now and we are so glad to have seamlessly partnered with Mike & Karen and the RTW ministry, which began before I was there.
We want to thank Ray for sharing his story. It truly is inspiring to see the longevity of Mike and Karen’s ministry, and the continued guidance from God! Thank you for reading and if you have a story you would like to share send it to us in the DM’s! #RTW #RTWCAMPS #GODISGOOD
