Have you ever thought about the principle behind why diets fail or succeed?

There are plenty of diets out there..
Low carb/ Ketogenic
Low fat
Paleo
Raw
No sugar
Weight watchers
Mediterranean
South Beach

All diets are restrictive, we know this.
But all of these diets are just different methods of reducing the amount of calories that you are consuming. The difference lies in the food groups that we are limiting or removing. ————————————————————————————
If you loose weight while completing a low carb diet. The weight loss is not a direct result of a lack of carbohydrates in your diet, but rather the lower amount of calories you are consuming as a result of reducing your carbohydrate intake. ————————————————————————————
Similarly, a paleo diet removes the majority of processed foods from your diet, (a food group easily over consumed) and as long as this reduces your overall caloric expenditure this diet, as any other, will be successful. ————————————————————————————
More so, your diet could consist of nothing but doughnuts and cake, and it is still possible to loose weight if you are not over consuming beyond your caloric goals. ————————————————————————————
From a health perspective, the best approach may not be to isolate food groups, as most will play a beneficial role in nourishing our body, or providing enjoyment and satisfaction. For this reason I will always promote behavioural change as an overall approach to losing weight, rather than completely eliminating certain types of food.

Over the years I've heard A LOT of excuses from people, myself included. When something doesn't go our way we are quick to point the finger and shift the blame elsewhere. It makes us feel better to think that we're not achieving what we want to because an external factor isn't allowing us to. ⬇️
In my experience real change happens when we step up take responsibility for our actions. When we stop looking for excuses for why we didn't and start looking for reasons why WE CAN, reasons why WE WILL.
