Hey guys, I finally fixed the post from the third memoir writing workshop session. How to do a research for your memoirs? Aren't you just using your memories?...
LINK IS IN BIO.
Did you know about the difference between #memoirs and #autobiography? I didn't!
“You can write only one autobiography, since you have only one life, but you can write lots of memoirs, because your life is full of events. A memoir is a kind of autobiographic novel, though it is less formal than an autobiography, and it has a different structure,” - more links and sources that will help you are in the post.
All in all, the experience of being taught and evaluated by a writer-at-residence was fantastic. I am so glad libraries in Toronto do it. Also, I just learned (from my new Q&Q) that while we were attending Writing Immigration Memoirs workshops with brilliant #ayelettsabari, my favourite author #trevorcole has been a writer-at-residence at @rhplibrary at the same time. I would be upset, but frankly this library is so far for me, I would probably just make it once to one session about the research (I already wrote about his research for "Hope Makes Love").
QOTD: if you wrote a memoirs, what event of your life would you write about? 😋
